Warranty Information for Exhausts and Remapping

PP Tuning’s stainless steel exhaust systems carry a 5-year warranty on fabricated pipework when supplied and fitted by PP Tuning, dropping to 12 months for supply-only orders or wear items. Engine and gearbox remapping is backed by a 30-day software warranty, but this covers the tune itself and nothing mechanical. Existing faults, worn components, previous remaps, and parts fitted elsewhere are excluded across the board.

Key Points

  • The 5-year exhaust warranty applies only to fabricated stainless steel pipework supplied and fitted by PP Tuning; it does not extend to every connected part
  • Exhausts bought online and fitted elsewhere are covered for 12 months against manufacturing defects only, and PP Tuning cannot accept responsibility for fitting errors made by others
  • Consumable and wear parts (silencers, flexi sections, clamps, hangers, gaskets, tips) carry a 12-month manufacturing defect warranty, not a wear warranty
  • Heat discolouration, road salt corrosion, impact damage, and cosmetic changes after fitting are not covered by the exhaust warranty
  • Remapping comes with a 30-day software-only warranty; no mechanical warranty is included and PP Tuning will not accept liability for parts that fail because they were already worn
  • A vehicle that was previously remapped elsewhere introduces unknown risk; PP Tuning is not responsible for hidden faults or damage caused by prior tuning work
  • Vehicles with existing warning lights, DPF issues, boost leaks, clutch slip, or injector problems must be rectified before remapping; diagnostic and repair costs fall to the customer
  • Customer-supplied parts (including used or remanufactured parts) are fitted at the customer’s risk; any additional labour caused by unsuitable parts is chargeable
  • Warranty claims require an order reference or order number, photos or video where relevant, and the vehicle or part must be inspected by PP Tuning before any third-party repair is authorised
  • UK statutory consumer rights are unaffected and apply in addition to this warranty

PP Tuning takes pride in the quality of its stainless steel exhaust systems, fabrication work and vehicle tuning services.

This page explains what is covered by warranty, what is not covered, and where vehicle condition, wear, previous work or third-party fitting may affect a claim.

This is here to keep things clear. It helps customers understand what PP Tuning will stand behind, while also protecting the business from issues caused by worn parts, previous modifications, poor fitting elsewhere or existing vehicle faults.

This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights and does not affect them.

Stainless Steel Exhaust Warranty

PP Tuning manufactures and fits stainless steel exhaust systems using quality materials and experienced workmanship.

Warranty cover depends on how the exhaust was supplied, whether it was fitted by PP Tuning, and whether the item is part of the fabricated stainless steel system or a wear/consumable item.

Exhausts Supplied and Fitted by PP Tuning

Where PP Tuning supplies and fits a fabricated stainless steel exhaust system, the stainless steel pipework and PP Tuning workmanship are covered for 5 years from the date of installation.

This covers faults caused by:

  • Manufacturing defects
  • Fabrication faults
  • Welding faults
  • Installation faults caused by PP Tuning

This warranty applies to the fabricated stainless steel pipework and the work carried out by PP Tuning.

It does not mean every part connected to the exhaust system is covered for 5 years.

Exhausts Bought Online for Delivery

Where an exhaust or exhaust component is bought online from PP Tuning and delivered for fitting elsewhere, the item is covered for 12 months from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects.

This warranty does not cover fitting issues caused by another garage, installer or customer.

PP Tuning cannot be responsible for:

  • Incorrect fitting
  • Damage caused during fitting
  • Modification after delivery
  • Poor alignment caused by vehicle condition
  • Fitting to a vehicle that has been altered, damaged or repaired elsewhere
  • Problems caused by unsuitable, missing or worn mounting parts

If the item has been fitted or modified by someone else, PP Tuning may need to inspect it before accepting any warranty claim.

Exhausts Bought Online and Fitted by PP Tuning

Where an exhaust is bought online from PP Tuning and fitted by PP Tuning, the product is covered for 12 months from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects.

The fitting work carried out by PP Tuning is covered for 12 months from the date of installation.

If the exhaust forms part of a custom fabricated system supplied and fitted by PP Tuning, the fabricated stainless steel pipework may be covered under the 5-year fitted system warranty, where confirmed by PP Tuning.

Consumable and Wear Items

Some exhaust parts naturally have a harder life than others. They are exposed to heat, vibration, movement, road salt, water, dirt, impact and general wear.

The following items are covered for 12 months against manufacturing defects only:

  • Tailpipes
  • Silencers
  • Flexi sections
  • Clamps
  • Hangers
  • Mounts
  • Rubbers
  • Gaskets
  • Brackets
  • Tips and trims
  • V-bands and joining parts

These items are not covered for normal wear, heat discolouration, surface marks, cosmetic changes, accidental damage or damage caused by vehicle movement, poor maintenance or worn surrounding parts.

What the Exhaust Warranty Does Not Cover

The exhaust warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by speed bumps, kerbs, grounding or impact
  • Damage caused by accidents or misuse
  • Damage caused by off-road use
  • Exhausts used for track, motorsport or competition use unless agreed in writing
  • Surface discolouration caused by heat
  • Cosmetic marks after use
  • Corrosion marks caused by road salt, cleaning chemicals or poor maintenance
  • Rattles caused by worn mounts, worn rubbers or vehicle movement
  • Problems caused by worn engine mounts or excessive vibration
  • Parts fitted, repaired or modified by another garage or person
  • Changes in exhaust sound over time
  • Customer preference after fitting, where the exhaust has been made and fitted as agreed
  • Faults caused by another issue on the vehicle

A warranty covers faults. It does not cover accidental damage, normal wear or issues caused by the condition of the vehicle.

Remapping Warranty and Support

PP Tuning carries out engine and gearbox remapping using professional tuning processes and Pendle Performance software.

A remap adjusts the vehicle’s existing engine or gearbox software. It does not repair worn mechanical parts, replace faulty components or guarantee that every vehicle will achieve the same figures.

Where PP Tuning completes a remap, the software work is covered for 30 days from the date of the remap.

During this period, PP Tuning will review the vehicle if there is a clear concern linked to the remap itself.

If PP Tuning finds that the issue is caused by the software work carried out by PP Tuning, PP Tuning will correct, adjust or return the vehicle to its previous software state at no charge.

Remapping Does Not Include a Mechanical Warranty

PP Tuning does not provide a mechanical warranty on the engine, gearbox, clutch, turbo, DPF, injectors or any other vehicle component following a remap.

A remap can increase power and torque. This may place more load on parts that are already worn, weak or close to failure.

If a part fails after remapping because it was already worn, weak, unsuitable or faulty, this is not covered by PP Tuning.

What the Remapping Warranty Does Not Cover

The remapping warranty does not cover:

  • Clutch slip
  • Worn clutches
  • Turbo faults
  • Injector faults
  • DPF issues
  • EGR faults
  • Gearbox faults
  • Boost leaks
  • Sensor faults
  • Cooling system faults
  • Fuel system issues
  • Engine wear
  • Poor servicing
  • Existing mechanical problems
  • Existing electrical faults
  • Previous remaps or software changes carried out elsewhere
  • Problems caused by customer-supplied parts
  • Problems caused by unsuitable or poor-quality parts
  • Faults that were already present but became more noticeable after tuning

Comments such as “it was fine before the remap” do not automatically mean the remap caused the issue.

Some faults only become obvious once the vehicle is tested, driven harder, loaded differently or asked to produce more power and torque.

Vehicles Previously Remapped Elsewhere

If a vehicle has already been remapped elsewhere, PP Tuning cannot guarantee the quality, condition or history of the existing software.

A poor previous remap may already have caused damage, stress or hidden faults before PP Tuning sees the vehicle.

If PP Tuning returns the vehicle to original software or applies a Pendle Performance remap and a fault then becomes apparent, this does not automatically mean the fault was caused by PP Tuning.

PP Tuning will not be liable for damage, faults or performance issues caused by previous remaps, poor-quality software or previous tuning work carried out elsewhere.

Vehicles with Existing Faults

Before remapping, PP Tuning may carry out checks, diagnostics, data logging or dyno testing where needed.

If a vehicle has existing faults, warning lights, DPF issues, boost problems, clutch slip, injector faults, gearbox issues or other mechanical concerns, these may need to be dealt with before tuning can be completed.

If the vehicle cannot be remapped because it fails initial testing or shows signs of a fault, the customer will be responsible for the cost of any investigation, labour, parts or repair work needed.

PP Tuning reserves the right to refuse to remap a vehicle if it is not suitable.

Customer-Supplied Parts

Where a customer supplies their own parts, including used, second-hand, refurbished or remanufactured parts, PP Tuning cannot guarantee the quality, suitability or performance of those parts.

In many cases, it may not be possible to know whether a customer-supplied part is suitable until it has been fitted and tested.

If customer-supplied parts cause poor performance, faults, extra labour, delays or additional repair work, PP Tuning will not be liable for those costs.

Any further work, removal, refitting or replacement will be charged at PP Tuning’s standard labour rate.

This is especially important with remapping, tuning and performance work, where worn, unsuitable or unknown parts can limit the result or cause further issues.

Warranty Claims

To make a warranty claim, please contact PP Tuning with:

  • Your name
  • Vehicle registration
  • Date of purchase or installation
  • Invoice /reference / order number
  • A clear description of the issue
  • Photos or videos, where useful

PP Tuning must be given the opportunity to inspect the vehicle or part before any warranty claim is accepted.

If another garage, installer or person carries out repair work before PP Tuning has inspected the issue, the warranty claim may be refused.

Inspection and Outcome

PP Tuning will inspect the vehicle or part and decide whether the issue is covered by warranty.

If the issue is covered, PP Tuning may repair, replace, adjust or refit the affected part, depending on what is reasonable.

If the issue is not covered, any inspection, labour, replacement parts or further work will be chargeable.

Statutory Rights

This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights and does not replace or reduce them.

Customers still have the rights given by UK consumer law, including rights relating to goods being as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality, and services being carried out with reasonable care and skill.
